The results of the US presidential elections are out.And the crown goes to the Democratic Presidential elect Barack Obama.Obama,a 46 year old is an african-american portraying the cosmopolitan nature of US.What effect does he have on India.Though he has given out words promoting friendship with India like "INDIA-A STRONG PARTNER OF US",he has not dropped the anti-outsourcing stance.He believes that shipping jobs to countries like India and China wakes up unemployment in US.So he has said that tax breaks will be stopped for those companies which ship jobs overseas.This statement was the exact contrary of John Mccain's view who said that the tax breaks will prevail but companies that employ US professionals will be given extra tax relaxations.This one sounded better.But this was not at all hindering Obama's support in India.The reason is Indians have a political picture in their minds that if Obama becomes the president it would be a great day in history which would be marked as a day of death for the US racist evils.And the day has already come.Also,the Indo-Us nuclear deal and the peace promotion along with the Anti-terrorism idea will still tighten the INDIA-US bond for the welfare of "peace and humanity".So let us hope for the best from Obama as well as from India. Well even i was excited about Obama breaking the barrier and even his selection would be a boost to our relations with the US, but the very fact that Manmohan Singh does not feature in his calling list (though our PM personally greeted him) is a clear indication that Obama certainly has something different in his mind.
